The Governors of Upshire Primary Foundation School are looking to appoint a reliable, organised and well motivated person who will care for our school, be committed to supporting our staff and ensure that the school is a safe and secure environment for our children.
You will have knowledge and experience of building maintenance, possibly have caretaking experience and be able to work on your own initiative. You will be responsible for opening and closing the school, occasional cleaning, security and general maintenance of the school and its grounds. The role includes health and safety checks and record keeping and the monitoring of equipment and premises. At times this could involve working on ladders, heavy lifting and the operation of machinery. Training in safeguarding, health and safety, first aid, ladders and legionella would be an advantage but appropriate training will be given.
Whilst larger projects are undertaken by outside contractors there are a variety of tasks such as painting, grounds maintenance, general repairs and security to be undertaken as necessary. This role may occasionally demand some flexibility in working patterns which may include out of hours call out, evenings and weekends.
Our Governing Board is committed to:
• safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety, and the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of children and young people; • promoting equality of opportunity and community cohesion where the diversity of different backgrounds and circumstances is appreciated and positively valued; • the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs.
Upshire Primary Foundation School expects all staff, volunteers and other workers to share this commitment. We are an equal opportunities employer and appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, DBS and medical checks.
If you would like further information please contact Julie Hockley, Finance and Personnel Manager on 01992 715567. Visits to our school are warmly welcomed and encouraged.
