Pay Range: LP 02-06 Fringe (Currently £43,439 - £47,827)

We are seeking to appoint a talented and ambitious Teacher of English to join our Lead Practitioner team. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is highly motivated and have a real passion for English and for developing the subject and colleagues. The Lead Practitioner Team form the backbone of the teaching and learning development work in the school and are well supported by both an experienced Deputy Headteacher and the Thurrock Teaching School Alliance which is based at the school. All Lead Practitioners have responsibilities both within and beyond their department and therefore the role provides outstanding professional development opportunities as well as providing an excellent opportunity for an ambitious colleague to develop their leadership skills further.
The English Department has a strong track record of success. Pupil outcomes are consistently above the national average. In 2019, 88% of pupils gained either English Language or Literature at grade 4 or above. At grade 5 the figure was 69%. This is an excellent opportunity for a forward-thinking colleague who is passionate about CPD and English to develop their leadership skills in a supportive and dynamic school and Trust.
