Chase High School is an academy that forms part of the Brentwood Academy Trust in partnership with St Martin's School, Brentwood. We are seeking to appoint 2 Community Attendance Support staff to improve the attendance and punctuality of our students. This is a new position within the school and highlights the importance we place on attendance.

The majority of the postholders time will be spent travelling to students homes across the local neighbourhood liaising with parents and students to identify the causes of poor attendance. The ideal candidate will be from the local community and be committed to improving the lives of local children by providing a pro-active, consistent and personal service to facilitate co-operation and understanding between the school and home.

Applicants with experience of working in a school or similar environment are welcome but this is not essential as it is more important to have the right attributes and attitudes. The successful candidate should possess the following skill set:

  • Confidence to deal with challenging situations.
The ability to work under own initiative and the flexibility to adapt to different challenges.
A strong sense of community and a desire to make a difference.
Persistence, tenacity and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
The ability to form strong relationships with families who are facing ongoing problems
    Excellent communication skills
Personable and approachable with a good sense of humour.

It is essential to have unrestricted access to a car and hold a full, clean driving licence.
