Classteacher - Reception/Key Stage 1
We are seeking to appoint a creative and inspiring teacher to join our Reception/Key Stage 1 team. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are very welcome to apply. This is a fixed term contract until August 2020 in the first instance.
Myland Primary School is a designated DfE English Hub and this post is to create additional capacity across our five Reception and Key Stage 1 classes to support the work of the Hub.
You will be a highly effective classroom teacher and have high expectations of children's behaviour, attainment and progress. You will also be able to motivate, inspire and challenge pupils in order to help them achieve their very best. In addition, a secure understanding of best practice in early reading and phonics is essential, as is the willingness to be flexible and adaptable.
Myland Primary School is a welcoming, vibrant and inclusive school that offers a creative, varied and engaging curriculum for our children. We are keen to welcome talented teaching staff who will be committed to providing the very best outcomes for our pupils. We are ideally situated close to the A12 and Colchester station, with excellent transport links and access to public transport.
Our children have a great appetite for learning which enables our teachers and support staff to plan and teach in an exciting way. We are lucky to have very supportive parents and governors who place a high value on education. Our "calm and caring atmosphere" and pupils who are "well behaved in lessons and have good attitudes to learning" (Ofsted April 2016) contribute to our high standards across the school.
The best way to get a feel for our school is to come and see us! Visits prior to application are strongly encouraged and warmly welcomed. Please call our school office to make an appointment. Please make all applications online via the Essex Schools' Jobs website. (Please note that we do not accept CVs.)
Myland Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This appointment is subject to safer recruitment procedures including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and medical clearance.
