Learning Support Assisant - Band 2
Required as soon as possible, term time only, five days including lunchtimes, fixed term in the first instance. There is a possibility this position could be a job share for two suitable candidates.
Maylandsea Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and capable learning support assistant. The role will involve specific support of individual children with special needs and small group interventions. You will be joining a team of hard working, friendly and adaptable LSAs working under the direction of class teachers and the SENCo. Previous experience working with children with specific learning difficulties and challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
Suitable candidates will need to be able to work as part of a team and be able to liaise with other members of staff. The successful applicant will be organised with good communication skills, able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility, be firm but patient and understand the professional nature of the role.
Qualifications: good numeracy and literacy skills - GCSE or equivalent in English and maths.
