Contract: Perm, full-time (commencing Easter 2020)
Salary: up to £59,000-£62,000 pa Contact: Penny Perschky, HR Consultant
Southend YMCA Community School is a successful, vibrant and innovative Alternative Provision, set up through the Free School system in 2013. Our mission is to provide an alternative route for our students to gain the best possible education.
Based in Prittlewell, Southend-on-Sea, we have 50 students, aged 14 to 16, who have been excluded or were at the cusp of exclusion from mainstream schools. As a result, many of our students have complex SEMH needs.
The Governors are seeking to appoint a dedicated and inspiring Headteacher with a clear vision and ambition to build on the many successes of our School, and to continue the high standards of teaching and learning whilst adding their own leadership experience, skills, ideas and commitment to excellence to the school.
If you possess the necessary dynamism and innovation and are highly motivated to supporting young people with complex needs to thrive spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally and academically, we want to encourage you to apply.
In return, you will be joining a "Good" school, evidenced by two successive Ofsted inspections, with a sustained reputation for providing high quality teaching and learning, and a proven track record of improving the outcomes for our students. You will lead a valued and motivated teaching staff, and a strong leadership team, with good links to other agencies in the community.
We are proud of the facilities we have and the positive learning environment for our students.
Visits to the school are encouraged and warmly welcomed prior to application. To arrange a visit or for further information please contact Amanda Kipps, School Business Manager, by Telephone: 01702 212541 or by E-mail: amandakipps@ymca.southend.sch.uk (please include a contact telephone number).
