Nurture Room Lead

Band 4: £18,813 - £22,993 pro-rata (actual £12,282 - £15,011)

27.5 hours per week - 39 weeks per year

Abbots Hall Primary Academy is looking to appoint a Nurture Room Leader to support a group of children with a range of learning needs.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about making a difference and improving outcomes for children. Our Nurture Leader will work with pupils from across the school, who have specific barriers to their learning; including cognition and learning, physical, communication and social and emotional challenges.

Experience of working with pupils with additional needs and/or a relevant qualification would be essential.

Job role:
To provide support for a named group of children through a carefully structured timetable that helps them access learning in their own classes.
To play a lead role in the development of the nurture group to improve access to our curriculum for pupils with additional needs.
Under the direction of the SENCO/Inclusion Lead, manage and lead a structured timetabled of interventions for pupil with a wide range of needs.
Set up a learning environment conductive to the nurture and development of pupils with a range of needs.
To plan and deliver engaging and motivating interventions tailored to individual needs.
Alongside the class teachers and SENCO develop a differentiated and challenging learning opportunities.
Where appropriate ensure all objectives on each individual child's EHCP or Individual Provision Plan are addressed continually enabling at least good progress.
Attend and contribute to EHCP, SEN reviews, Pupil progress meetings and Parents' meetings as appropriate.
In line with the school's policy, mark and provide feedback on pupils' work set in school.
To regularly review progress and feedback to class teachers, SENCO and the Inclusion Lead.
With the support of the SENCO, use appropriate diagnostic assessment tools such as the Boxall Profile.
Work with outside agencies and providers to include additional specialist provision.
Apply the school's values and aims in all aspects related to pupil welfare and progress
Follow the school's guidelines on issues relating to child protection
To gain the Nurture Group accreditation
