Information about the School
St Thomas More High School was established in 1960 as a two form entry bilateral school for Roman Catholic boys aged 11-16. Over fifty years later we are a thriving school of around 1,000 on roll including a vibrant mixed sixth form, in vastly expanded premises. In 2011 the school became an Academy within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brentwood.
St Thomas More High School is a vibrant learning community with a strong family ethos and a distinctive Catholic identity. We believe that the years spent with us should engage and enrich our young people, challenge and support them to aspire towards high standards of self-discipline and the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of school life.
Our school is led by a talented and dedicated staff, who work tirelessly for the benefit of our students and as a result our school is a well-disciplined and considerate environment where students achieve well. We encourage respect for others and an understanding and tolerance towards all races, religion and cultures.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. Appointments made are subject to an Enhanced DBS clearance and safeguarding checks.
