SEN Keyworker - Named Pupil
Band 2 Point 3 - 5 (starting point depending on experience)
22 hours per week, term time only. Actual salary £8,879.02 - £9,237.82
Start date: As soon as possible
Queen Boudica Primary School is a thriving and successful two-form entry primary school situated on the north side of Colchester. We offer modern, well-resourced learning environments and our pupils are well mannered, dynamic and motivated to learn.
Our Ofsted inspection (September 2017) has confirmed our good provision and recognises that our school 'is a safe and happy learning environment.' Pupils 'enjoy coming to school and their outcomes demonstrate many strengths in both Key Stages 1 and 2.'
We are in receipt of funding for a pupil in Year 1 with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), who experiences difficulties with attention, listening, speech and language and social/interaction skills and require an adult to work with him on a 1-1 basis. The pupil enjoys physical activities and the post would require the candidate to engage in practical skills with him as well as developing his academic ability.
Experience and/or training in supporting children with ASD are an advantage e.g knowledge of TEACCH, and structured speech and language programmes.
Close liaison with home and attendance at termly reviews are essential, and effective working with other professionals in a 'team around' approach is also important.
As with all posts in our school, the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB check, in line with our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Visits are warmly welcomed. Please call 01206 844654 and ask for Tracey Metson.
We reserve the right to close the advert early if an appropriate candidate applies.
Closing date: September 16th
Interviews: week beginning September 23rd
