YMCA Community School are looking to expand our teaching staff preferably with an experienced qualified teacher with the ability to deliver across two or more from the following subject areas. We currently offer English, Maths, ICT, Film Studies, Prince's Trust, Cookery and PE.
Following our recent OFSTED inspection which classed us as a good school, we are seeking to strengthen our team and help to provide room for more initiatives to support the particular needs of our students.
YMCA community school deals primarily with Year 10 and 11 students male and female who have for various reasons, but predominantly behavioural, struggled in the mainstream setting. As a free school alternative provision we teach in small groups and our curriculum is tailored to best suit the character of our students whilst giving them the best chance to enjoy some academic success and move forward to a suitable pathway post 16.
The successful candidate would ideally have a passion for some of the subjects listed as well as some experience of dealing and coping with challenging behaviour on a daily basis. We encourage all applicants to visit the school to understand the unique setting where students can flourish despite their previously troubled histories.
