The Children's Support Service isan Alternative Provision, whose aim is to provide lasting, meaningful, and positive outcomes for children who are unable to access mainstream education.
We are seeking a positive and supportive learning support assistant, to join our professional and innovative team. You will work 33.25 hours over 5 days per week, term time only, at our Langdon Hills, Basildon site with KS3 & 4 pupils and also occasionally deliver one-to-one tuition off-site.
The successful candidate will:
· Have experience of supporting pupils with a range of educational needs and be empathetic to reasons of disengagement
· Have good knowledge of the curriculum and some knowledge of alternative provisions
· Support with all personalised learning programmes, including class based and off site activities
' Be able to support outdoor activities
· Be able to deliver 1:1 educational intervention programmes
· Look for creative ways in which to support every child with their personalised learning programmes
· Communicate with parents/carers and other professionals
· Be able to contribute to our positive, safe, caring and supportive environments
· Have GCSE standard, or equivalent, of Maths and English
The role requires all candidates to speak fluent English and you must have "business use" on your car insurance.
Our service is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and full employment checks, good references and medical clearance.

Information about the School
The Children’s Support Service is a short stay provision (PRU) in Essex. We have two main centres covering KS2-4 (in Wickford and Basildon) as well as an Outreach Service which works to support students, staff and schools in the local area, with bases in Basildon and Harlow.
Most of our students are referred to us due to difficulties they have faced in school; many come with additional needs and require academic, emotional and social support.
We offer a wide range of subjects, including the core curriculum, as well as enhanced activities to provide an enriched learning experience. We collaborate with schools and professionals who need our support, and aim to reintegrate students back into mainstream education or prepare them for other lifelong learning opportunities.
