Essex Pay Band April 2019

Band 4 to Mid Actual Salary £21441 - £24157

36 hours per week 8.15am - 4.00pm Monday - Thursday. 8.15am - 3.45pm Friday (1/2 hour daily lunch break)

Working weeks per year: 40 (Term time + Inset Days + 1 week)

Holiday entitlement: 5.4 weeks (Paid weeks = 45.4)

The successful candidate will work during each week of term time including non-pupil days. 5 additional working days are required to be carried out during school holidays as required by the headteacher.

We are seeking to appoint an organised, personable and efficient School Business Manager to join our friendly team. We want someone who understands their primary purpose is to support the headteacher in achieving the best possible outcomes for our pupils.

The Role Includes:

  • All aspects of financial and human resources management.
  • Ensuring GDPR compliance
  • Maintaining the Single Central Record
  • Marketing and promoting the school
  • Income generation and bids for funding

Demonstrating you are capable of providing strategic leadership, you will have the vision and drive to develop all aspects of the school's non-teaching infrastructure.

You will have:

  • Sound experience of financial management and budgetary control in schools with the relevant qualifications.
  • Understanding of income generation strategies.
  • Experience of IT and knowledge of accounting and school management information systems.
  • Understanding and knowledge of human resources and payroll.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • A high degree of motivation to be fully committed to working in a school environment.
  • A willingness and passion to get involved in the wider aspects of school life.
  • The skills to promote a positive image of the school through your work.
  • The ability to work to deadlines, on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

West Horndon Primary School is a welcoming, warm and friendly primary school. We are located just outside Brentwood in Essex. We also have a 20 pupil Enhanced Provision for children with speech and language difficulties.
