Full-time Sports Centre Manager
Band 4 to Top (Actual salary range £23,866 - £30,756 pa plus £597 pa outer fringe)
37 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year
Annual leave entitlement 23 days plus bank holidays
Hours of work: Flexible shift patterns e.g. mornings, evenings and weekends - rota to be agreed according to operational requirements
The Sports Centres opening hours are: 4.30pm-10pm on weekdays and 8am-6pm on weekends, plus late evening function hire events.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our school team managing our on-site Sports Centre. As Sports Centre Manager, you will be responsible for co-coordinating the daily operation of the centre along with a small team of Recreation Assistants. You will need to be able to motivate your team and ensure members and visitors are treated to an exceptional visit, through the delivery of very high standards and top class service at all times.
The ideal candidate will be commercially aware with a strong focus on marketing and business development. Creating community awareness and building strong local presence will be high on the successful candidate's agenda.
You will need to be able to manage the compliance side of the business in line with the Health & Safety at Work act. In addition you will be taking the lead on audits and the administration where required, ensuring your team understands procedures and processes alike.
Our facilities include a multi-purpose sports facility catering for football, hockey, basketball, volleyball, netball and badminton along with a climbing wall. In addition to this we are proud to have a fitness suite with running and rowing machines and a free weight area, 18m indoor swimming pool and an FA approved and registered floodlit 3G multi-use games area.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in sports centre/fitness industry, lots of enthusiasm and a passion for sport, exercise and fitness.
This is a customer facing role; therefore fluency in English is required.
