We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced science teacher to support the leadership of this popular department in its continued drive for excellence. Applications are welcome from scientists of any specialism and there is the possibility of A level teaching for the right candidate.

Chase High School is an academy that forms part of the Brentwood Academies Trust in partnership with St Martins, Brentwood.

The Science Department

The Science Department at Chase High is at a pivotal time in its development and this is an opportunity for the right candidate to make a significant contribution to further improvement.

The department is very well resourced with 6 fully equipped laboratories, two prep rooms and a team of highly experienced technicians. A seventh lab will be built this summer to accommodate rising school numbers. There are interactive whiteboards in all rooms and practical work is encouraged.

The students study a bespoke KS3 programme based on the Collins scheme and AQA courses are followed for GCSE. Both separate sciences and the trilogy course are taught to students. A levels are currently offered in Biology and Chemistry and in 2018 one of our students gained place a medical school.

The department undertakes many extra-curricular activities including science club, robotics club, the Faraday Challenge (winners of the Innovation Award in 2018) and the popular Bushcraft Camp.

Chase High School is a mixed, mainstream secondary school located in Westcliff-on-Sea
, near Southend, Essex. It educates more than 1,000 students aged 11-18 from over 40 countries. Since 2011, the school has had a sixth form.

Chase High School was built more than 100 years ago and recently secured academy status under the Discovery Educational Trust. The secondary school continues to be involved in the community, forging local and international partnerships
