YEAR LEADER

Required September 2018 or January 2019, an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher to join our Achievement Team as Year Leader for Year 8. All subject specialisms will be considered.
The successful candidate will work with the Leadership team, Form Tutors and Pastoral Managers to improve progress and achievement of pupils in Year 8. The role involves a combination of strategic leadership of behaviour and achievement systems, management of the education, social and emotional needs of individuals and the tracking and monitoring of student progress and key groups, planning any required interventions. Liaison with parents, staff, SLT and members of the community is key to maintaining positive outcomes and relationships with students and promoting the vision, ethos and aims of the school. The Head of Year 8 is expected to work alongside the Intervention Team and the Leadership Team to ensure all students in the year group achieve their potential.
The school has a positive commitment to staff development and has a reputation for success built on teamwork, good relations and shared values. All members of staff working at the school support the aims and ethos of the school and participate in the extensive visits programme.
The school is located in the village of Ingatestone in Essex with easy access to the A12 and M25. Ingatestone is also only a 30 minute train journey from Liverpool Street station.
