Learning Support Assistant
16 ¼ hours per week - term time only, five mornings.
Maylandsea Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and capable learning support assistant to work in a Key Stage 2 classroom. You will be joining a team of hard working, friendly and adaptable LSAs working under the direction of the class teacher and the SENCo. The role will involve specific support of an individual child with complex physical and learning needs. Previous experience working with children with a physical disability is desirable as there will be an element of personal care required. Suitable candidates will need to be able to work as part of a team and able to liaise with other members of staff. The successful applicant will be organised with good communication skills, able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility, be firm but patient and understand the professional nature of the role. Some medical training will be required as part of this position.
Qualifications: good numeracy and literacy skills - GCSE or equivalent in English and maths. Strong IT skills would be an advantage.
