Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer
Required for May 2018
37 hours per week, 45 weeks per year
To be onsite 4 weeks to act as Safeguarding lead when school holiday clubs are in operation plus an additional 2 weeks for meeting and liaisons during holiday periods.
Holidays to be taken during school closure periods
Shorefields School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer.
The post holder will support the Headeacher in leading and managing safeguarding and child protection practice at Shorefields School assisting to promote and ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils in the school.
The post will involve developing and delivering training to school staff and updating relevant policies, procedures and guidance as necessary and will play a key role in the coordination of referrals to social care, attending and contributing reports for relevant meetings and keeping careful records of actions.

Shorefields School caters for the needs of pupils with a range of severe learning difficulties. We currently have 154 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 19 years. The school is located in the centre of Clacton-on-Sea close to the beach and shopping area. Our catchment area extends to the whole of the Tendring peninsula
