Alec Hunter Academy is seeking to employ a well-organised and experienced individual to teach small groups of students to promote good progress and attainment in maths.
The successful candidate will be line managed by an experienced member of the maths team and will need to liaise with the school's Pupil Premium Coordinator to establish effective ways of working. Records of the sessions delivered will need to be maintained and it will be necessary to produce short reports or case studies detailing progress made. The role will also involve contact with parents via e-mail or telephone to inform them of progress.
Maths subject knowledge to A Level is essential and experience of working in schools would be an advantage, although candidates from a non-educational background will be considered. Equally important are a desire to improve outcomes for young people and the ability to employ engaging and effective strategies to achieve this.
Salary will be dependent on the level of experience and qualifications. Applicants who hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) may be eligible for a slightly higher salary.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. A Disclosure and Barring Service Check at enhanced level will be required for this post. If you would like to visit the school prior to making an application, please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange this.
