South Green Junior School is a two form entry, over-subscribed junior school in Billericay, Essex which is within the borough of Basildon. Billericay is a vibrant town on a mainline railway to London (30 minute journey) and has a growing population of approximately 41,500. South Green Junior School's last OFSTED report graded the school as 'Good' and 'Outstanding' in relation to pupil behaviour and safety.
We are looking for a new head to lead the school from September 2015 or earlier after the departure of our existing head to a leadership position within Essex County Council. The school has a strong leadership team and staff at the school are dedicated to their roles.
We are looking for someone who:
- has outstanding leadership skills to drive the school forward as well as inspiring and motivating staff and pupils alike;
- excellent organisation and communication skills, with the ability to be understood by the pupils, staff and parents alike;
- is reliable and committed to the school's values;
- can provide guidance and nurturing to staff to ensure excellent teaching standards across the school and curriculum;
- has the ability and desire to build on the successful working relationship the school has with its partner infant school, as well as the two secondary schools within the town and the Trust to which the school is a member;
- has a creative flair, coupled with imagination to try new ideas and encourage constructive feedback and thinking;
- has a thorough and complete understanding of school data; and
- has a passion for education and a desire to be the best.
