Due to retirement Holland Haven Primary School is looking for an Administration Assistant to be part of a strong office team. This position is to start on 1st September, however there may be the opportunity for a few days training towards the end of the Summer term.
This role is for 28 working hours per week, Monday to Friday term time plus one week non-pupil days and one week of holiday working (40 weeks per year). The hours will be from 8:15am - 2pm Monday to Thursday and 8:15am to 3:45pm on a Friday with 30 minute break at 12 noon each day. We are looking for someone who is interested in a long term position at Holland Haven School, as there may be the potential of taking on further responsibilities in the future.
We are looking for someone who is articulate, literate and numerate, with good interpersonal, time management and organisation skills and have the ability to prioritise their work. Previous experience of working in an administration position is required, preferably in a school environment, however this is not essential as training can be arranged.
The successful candidate will be expected to have relevant IT skills and possess, as a minimum, GCSEs, including maths and English qualifications at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent). One of the daily roles of this post will be to provide the kitchen team with lunch orders as early as possible, therefore the successful candidate will need to work both quickly and accurately. There are various software packages that will be used (training will be given for specialist educational packages) however recent experience of Microsoft Office and working with Google is essential along with a willingness to learn new systems.
The successful post holder will be located in a busy school office and will work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the office. A smart appearance, flexible working approach, good organisation skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure is essential. As part of the office team, the candidate may be asked to carry out some other general office duties on occasion.
