Pay Range: Local Government Scale 8 £33,945 - £36,648 (Point 25 - 28)
Full Time (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)
Place of Work: Clacton-on-sea
Start Date: As soon as possible
The Role
We are seeking a People & Culture Advisor to join our fantastic team at the Sigma Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience within a similar role or for someone who is looking for the next step in their HR career.
Sigma is a multi-academy trust, responsible for 12 schools and a teacher training provider in the Colchester and Tendring area. As a People & Culture Advisor you will work with the HR Business Partners and the wider HR team to provide confidential support and guidance to Trust leaders, managers and staff, ensuring that the people agenda is at the heart of the organisation's day to day operations. The successful candidate will be based at the Trust's head office in Clacton, however there will be an expectation to visit schools on a regular basis.
We're looking for you if you have…
- Experience of working in a Human Resources role in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge and experience of employment related policies.
- Experience in coaching and advising leaders and managers in generalist HR matters including performance, absence, disciplinary, grievance.
- Excellent time management, organisational and administrative skills to prioritise tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Approachable and able to build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing operational support and guidance to Leadership Teams and managers in all aspects of Human Resources ensuring that Trust HR policies and procedures are embedded and consistently applied across the Trust.
- Providing expert HR support to Trust leaders and managers in casework matters, including misconduct, capability & absence management.
- Understanding the needs & challenges within own school portfolio & supporting headteachers to problem solve, identify solutions and share best practice.
- Continuously improving manager capability by coaching, influencing and assisting managers in a way that increases their knowledge, understanding and ability to manage people effectively.
