(£31,350.00- £47,839.00 per annum)

FTE: 100% - part time may be considered

Start date: September 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational English and Drama Teacher to join our successful English and Drama Department. We are seeking to appoint a talented, enthusiastic, ambitious, and driven English and Drama Teacher to join our school to deliver inspiring English and Drama lessons at St Clere's and help provide a high quality, comprehensive and meaningful education for all learners. We aim to empower our learners so they can apply their acquired skills throughout their lives and to excel in the chosen career.

The opening of our brand new sixth form at St Clere's School in 2023 was a very exciting opportunity for new staff, as well as young people in the local area. We are incredibly lucky to have highly skilled and collaborative teachers who have experience in teaching post 16 at St Clere's and we welcome the opportunity for new members of staff to join our pre-existing team. As the sixth for expands and we welcome a second cohort of students in 2024, we are looking for people to join us who are equally excited about the journey we are on.

This is a great chance for a candidate with excellent subject knowledge to join our teaching team to help deliver English and Drama curriculum across KS3/4 to engage all of our students. As an English and Drama Teacher, you will be responsible for securing the best possible outcomes for our students. We expect all of our students to be challenged, inspired and to believe in their abilities. You will have energy, enthusiasm and flexibility to enable students to achieve the highest possible standards by demonstrating the highest quality of teaching, learning and assessment. In addition to having a genuine passion for teaching and wanting to improve the life chances of students at St Cleres.

St Clere's School is a high achieving, oversubscribed school with a "Good" Ofsted rating and consistently high student outcomes, demand for places is increasing year on year. Information about the School

St Clere’s School is a secondary school and Co-operative Academy with an ethos that promotes excellence for all. Everything we do is underpinned by Co-operative values that guide and develop our students through their education to become successful, responsible and confident adults. We work in partnership with a family of schools including East Tilbury Primary School, Stanford-le-Hope Primary School, Thameside Primary School, Arthur Bugler Primary School and Brentwood County High School. Due to our excellent Science facilities and results, we were awarded Specialist Science College status in 2010. We have since been awarded a second specialism in Sport because of our outstanding amenities and standards.

St Clere’s School is located on the edge of Stanford-le-Hope, a short distance from the A13, and is surrounded by a large expanse of playing fields, which enable us to enjoy a vast array of sports. We have a range of facilities including a state of the art Drama studio, an Apple Mac suite, fully refurbished Science labs, Sports Pavilion, 3G all weather floodlit pitch, tennis courts and an exceptionally well-stocked Library with research and quiet study space. In addition, we have classrooms with up-to-date ICT resources, which enhance the teaching for all students and provide a comfortable environment in which to learn.

Our reputation is one of very high academic standards and outstanding pupil conduct. St Clere’s School has gone from strength to strength and the past few years, St. Clere's School pupils have achieved significantly above national results. The Maths department have continued their trend of results, high in the 80s where one third of pupils left with a top grade of 7 to 9. The English department has also mirrored that success with results high in the 80s and significantly above national. Additionally, our progress score continues to be a solid positive and our Ebacc results are above national. Both ICT and separate sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) were 100% A* to C. These results are significantly above national figures and some of the best results in the history of our school, demonstrating: high quality teaching and learning; continuous dedication of staff and the engagement for learning of our pupils. All of this is evident on a daily basis at St Clere’s School.
