Kitchen Porter
£15,646.69 pa actual (includes 5.5 weeks holiday pay)
37 hours per week, term-time only plus INSET days
Monday to Friday 7am - 3 pm (30 minute unpaid lunch break each day)
Required as soon as possible an experienced, efficient Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen supporting our Catering Manager and Assistant Catering Manager, which serves both this School and Westcliff High School for Boys.
Food Hygiene qualification desired but not essential as training will be provided.
Awareness of manual handling best practice also desirable.
DUTIES
• To undertake all aspects of cleaning equipment (light and heavy), walls (up to 6ft.) floors, fixtures and fittings, cooking utensils, cutlery, glassware etc. as directed.
• During service times, to ensure that tables and counters are as clean as reasonably practicable and adequately stocked.
• Receive and check catering deliveries against invoice and store in the appropriate area.
• Monitor and record temperatures of catering deliveries as required
• To keep the storeroom clean and tidy at all times.
• To clean staff toilet, changing room and staff room at the end of each day.
• To hose out and clean all bins at the end of each week or as directed.
• To lift and move heavy equipment as directed
• Assist in the preparation of equipment as directed.
• To maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations.
• To attend training activities and/or meetings as required.
• Report immediately any accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate or possible.
• The duties above are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the post holder may be required by the Headteacher to carry out appropriate duties within the context of
the job, skills and grade.
Qualifications & Experience
- Food Hygiene qualification is preferable: training will be given if required
- Experience of all aspects of cleaning equipment (light and heavy), walls (up to 6ft.) floors, fixtures and fittings, cooking utensils, cutlery, glassware etc.
- Basic level of education
- Completion of DCSF Induction
