Salary: LGPS Scale 4 points 6 - 7 (£16,181 to £16,505 actual salary) depending on experience

Langham Oaks School has an exceptionally rare and exciting opportunity to appoint the right person to join the School as a Senior Learning Support Assistant (Engagement for Learning).TheEngagement for Learning Team comprisesof a small group of pastoral staffwho are dedicated to ensuring that pupils engage positively in learning throughout the day and support them in moderating their own behaviour.

Are you looking for a unique opportunity to enhance your support skill set? We are looking for a resilient and emotionally intelligent professional to join our committed staff team to support our pupils and families throughout their journey with us from year 6 to post 16 education.

This role offers experience and training in one of the most rewarding areas of education and provides a unique insight into supporting pupil welfare and engagement in the learning process. The post holder will be involved in supporting our high performing teaching and support teams in engaging pupils, managing safeguarding and facilitating positive change.

Langham Oaks is set in the quiet village of Langham, near Colchester, and is a school for 80 boys with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. It is part-residential and places are available for some of the boys who wish to stay for part of the week between Monday and Thursday.

Previous, relevant experience of an SEMH provision is desirable although not essential as full training will be given for the right candidate.

In October 2020, the school moved into to a brand-new purpose-built provision within its existing grounds. This means that all of the estate buildings and facilities are less than 18 months old and provide wonderful facilities for its staff and pupils.
