COVER SUPERVISOR
Pay Range: Local Government Scale 5 (Point 8-11)
Actual Salary From: £16,834
Start Date: 1 September 2022
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Colne Community School and College for a Cover Supervisor to join our staff.
Our school is a community in which we believe everyone, students and staff alike, should have the opportunity to be nourished and grow. Therefore, we are seeking to recruit a proactive and forward thinking member of staff to enrich the skills and experience already present in our Cover Supervision Team. We aim to foster an inclusive culture where everyone is able to learn from each other. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and diligent.
The Colne Community School and College is a member of the Sigma Trust. We work closely with other schools within the Trust to improve standards and ensure that we are creating the best environment for our students to learn and our staff to develop.
Our school community is expanding which makes this a particularly unique and exciting time to join our team. We have a brand new teaching block consisting of 8 new classrooms and 4 specialist Design and Technology rooms fully equipped. A further large scale internal refurbishment will be taking place over the 2022/23 academic year which will further improve our school environment for all.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
● Supervise students engaged in learning activities.
● Provide objective and accurate feedback to the teacher on the conduct of the lesson.
● Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

We're looking for you if you have:
● The ability to work calmly under pressure
● Excellent communication skills with adults and children, verbally and in writing
● Good literacy and numeracy skills

This post is 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time, plus non-pupil days).
