REACH Essex Ltd supports both children and families to reach their full potential. You would be providing support to vulnerable young people between the ages of 4-17 years old. You are required to work within family settings setting where children are requiring support and supervision utilising a broad range of skills to ensure the child and family are provided the best possible service. We aim to provide a secure environment that will support young people to ensure they receive the highest standard of care appropriate to their individual needs.

We are looking to recruit committed and creative workers who are passionate about providing high quality support and care to young people to enable them to develop. Applicants will need to be dedicated and enthusiastic in providing good outcomes to children and young people with all aspects of their lives and have the ability to communicate effectively and deal with very difficult and challenging circumstances.

Reporting to: Therapeutic Lead

Plan and deliver creative and engaging mentoring sessions for pupils with anxiety.

Communicate enthusiasm in ways that engage the pupils, fosters their motivation and willingness to engage and contribute to effective outcomes being achieved.

Contribute to the overall aims, objectives and outcomes of mentoring.

Maintain respect, professionalism and confidentiality.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

-Facilitate 1:1 mentoring sessions in the family home, local community and/or Reach office.

-Write session reports.

-Deliver a therapeutic approach to promote and reinforce pupil self-esteem through praise and encouragement and exploration.

-Be sensitive to the welfare and care of the pupils emotional well-being.

-Develop pupils' regulation strategies.

-Use a range of strategies and resources to provide a purposeful mentoring sessions which develop positive attitudes, values and behaviour.

-Maintain regular contact with schools parents and carers.

Requirements for the role:

-Experience of working and engaging young people

-Good communication skills

-Capable of dealing with challenging behaviour

-Team Worker

-Excellent verbal and written communication.

-IT literate

-Able to work alone

-Use sound judgement

-Common sense and own initiative
