Learning Support Assistant
Fixed term to 31 August 2023
26.67 hours per week
39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 Inset Days)
Scale 3 Points 4-5 actual salary £11851-£12088
We have an exciting opportunity for a Gap Year Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Support Faculty for the new academic year.
We require an enthusiastic, motivated and organised individual to support identified students with special educational needs and/or disabilities to enable them to access the curriculum. You will be working with students across all three key stages and therefore education to A Level standard is essential. The knowledge and experience of working with young people is desirable along with good interpersonal and listening skills.
This position would suit someone who is possibly considering teaching as a profession and wants to gain experience and develop their skills within a large secondary school across a range of curriculum areas. (The previous post holders are starting PGCE courses in September.)

Information about the School
The Boswells School is a large 11-18 secondary school that serves the area of north Chelmsford. The school is an extremely popular, over-subscribed convertor academy that enjoys an excellent reputation in the local and wider community. We were graded ‘Good’ in every area by OFSTED in February 2017 and are working towards our goal of becoming a truly great school.
