Learning Support Assistant - Required 1 September2022

Part time (term-time only) Fixed Term Contract one year

32.5 hour per week

39 weeks per year (term time inclusive of INSET days)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and self-motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our team of support staff. The ideal candidate will have phonics experience and have previously worked in a primary school setting. This LSA role will support the class teacher and will involve supporting with interventions and willing to run one agfter school club.

The successful candidate will have the following skills: -

  • Educated to at least level C GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
  • A flexible motivated team player with good organisational skills
  • Ability to think creatively to make learning exciting and relevant to all our students
  • Be adaptable and able to work with initiative
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and have high expectations of themselves and children.

Dr Walker’s Church of England Primary School is a small village Voluntary Controlled community school, in the heart of Fyfield, Ongar. We might be small, but have a lot to offer!

We are a creative school, where pupils are supported to become the best they can be. Pupils access the curriculum through additional fun activities such as dressing up days, hatching ducks, circus workshops, visiting zoo, residentials, initiatives, etc. and where appropriate participation in sporting events with local schools. Our school website evidences all our fun activities in the weekly newsletters (do have a look at how we are having fun, whilst learning!).

The school has had a number of improvements over the last two years, inclusive of: • The building of two new classrooms (with aircon) • new playground multi-sports markings • multi-sports goalposts • an adventure trail • classrooms have been re-decorated • new access to KS2 classrooms • EYFS has had a make-over (inside and out!) and • new fencing to secure the school’s main entrance.
