Teaching Assistant to named Student
Greensward Academy
Salary: NJC 5 pro rata- £14,464.00
Fixed Term until July 2025
32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
July 2022 start
Greensward Academy is recruiting a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our caring and highly competent team of SEN staff. You will be supporting a named student during the school day who is starting pre-GCSE courses and is expected to achieve a good standard at GCSE. Experience is preferred, but candidates should have a good educational background including at least GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics.
We are looking for a highly motivated applicant who is energetic, flexible and has a positive outlook
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- providing daily support for a named student during the school day
- attending to students' personal medical needs where appropriate
- supporting the students' use of ICT and other skills in developing independence
- supporting students in physical activities and education, including academic differentiation, where appropriate
- establishing positive relationships with students supported and with their parents/carers
- supporting students in external examinations in accordance with their dispensations
- understanding specific learning and care needs and providing appropriate support
- maintaining necessary records as directed
- Participating in appropriate professional development
Flexibility may be required in terms of providing support to students before and after school and during break times (including lunch break)

Greensward Academy is an 11-19 comprehensive academy based in Hockley in Essex. It is part of the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), a multi-academy sponsor which aims to provide the opportunity for all young learners to fulfil their real potential. The academy is graded Good by Ofsted and its results are strong, particularly in the Sixth Form which is in the top 3% nationally and top in Essex according to DfE Post 16 Performance Tables.
