Monday to Friday: 7.30-9.30am (2 hours) and then 1.30-5.30pm (4 hours) Working pattern may be discussed and negotiated to some extent.
Old Heath Community Primary School is friendly one form entry school with approx 210 children on roll.
Are you someone who can turn their hand to almost anything? As a caretaker at our school you could be doing anything from unblocking toilets/drains and carpet cleaning to building sink units, treating outside wooden equipment or hanging bunting & Christmas lights!!
Ideally our new caretaker ~ taking care of our school and us, will
· Take pride in establishing a school environment that is safe, attractive and inviting
· Be practical, flexible, able to show initiative and work independently
· Have good DIY skills ~ plumbing, decorating, building objects from flatpack etc
· Have good communication skills for liaising with contractors and other trades people
· Be able to take a key role in health and safety checks, and monitoring with input to COSHH and Risk Assessments
· Be the principal key holder, responsible for opening and locking up and call outs.
Please see the job description for a fuller list of duties. There will be specific training courses related to Asbestos, Water Safe/Legionella, general Health & Safety training which may be on line or face to face courses.
The need to attend callouts and attend training would require a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
This role includes working in the school holidays when hours can be consolidated by arrangement. It would be expected that holiday entitlement would be taken during school holidays.
