Down Hall Primary School is seeking to employ a Midday Assistant in our busy school Mon-Fri 12.00-13.15, term time only to start September.
We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and flexible person who enjoys working with children and is capable of working well within a team. You will be responsible for helping to supervise the children in the lunch hall and on the playground. Some basic first aid duties will be required. In collaboration with other midday colleagues and senior staff creatively manage and implement interesting and stimulating activities for lunchtime play.
Down Hall Primary school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As part of the Safer Recruitment process the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS police check.

The Primary School is located at the heart of the community of Rayleigh and has a rich history of providing education to families in the town, as well as those from other neighbouring villages. In addition to receiving a broad, balanced and vocabulary rich curriculum which encourages the children to be inquisitive, independent and life-long learners, the children receive a host of extra-curriculum opportunities.
The day starts for some children in our breakfast club, where children enjoy sports, arts and crafts and tasty snacks; wrap-around care is also provided at the end of the day. Throughout the day there is a large playground, grassed play areas, trim trail and a playing field for the children to enjoy and a healthy lunch is cooked on-site.
The children throughout the school benefit from many a curricular enrichment activity, from trips to Colchester Castle, Barleylands Farm, Hanningfield Reservoir to visits from The Animal Experience, as well as residential adventures in KS2. We also utilise our local area to enrich the curriculum, with lots of seasonal walks around the town, visits to Holy Trinity Church and the local library.
The school has its own outdoor swimming pool, which is used throughout the summer term to provide curriculum swimming lessons, as well as after-school fun! The school takes part in many inter-school sports events with our neighbouring schools, as well as enjoying our own annual sports day.
The school also has a successful Parent Teacher Association, that fund raise through organising fun events such as movie nights, school discos, Mothers and Father's Day sale and various fetes
