Full time Site Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, multi-skilled, proactive and organised Assistant Caretaker to join the school's Facilities team.
Role: To contribute to the smooth running of the school by carrying out a range of duties as directed by the Site Manager. These will include security and supervision of the site. There will be an emphasis on DIY maintenance tasks, porterage, some cleaning and other manual duties will be involved.
The hours of employment are Monday to Friday 10:15am to 6:15pm plus some occasional additional working hours to meet operational needs, for example school open events or school performances. Hours are adjusted and reduced during the St John's School holidays. This post is on a 52 week per year contract with 20 days paid leave plus bank holidays.
A school lunch is provided during term time and onsite parking is available.
Main Responsibilities:
· Site Security - locking and unlocking, main key holder.
· Grounds maintenance
· Regular maintenance checks
· Traffic Management
· Porterage
· Health & Safety checks
· Plumbing, painting and decorating etc.
Previous similar experience in the maintenance trade is desirable but not essential as training will be given. You should be able to demonstrate satisfactory literacy and numeracy skills and be able to relate well to pupils, other staff and parents, interacting with them in a friendly and approachable manner. A cheerful, flexible approach, the ability to prioritise, with a can-do attitude and good DIY skills are essential.
Salary: £21420, pay review pending.
