Maltings Academy

We are looking for a talented Head of MFL. You will join an academy embarking on an exciting new journey under new leadership. The successful candidate will lead, manage and develop the department, maximising student achievement and progress. You will be expected to :

  • To be accountable for operational and strategic planning
  • To ensure effective curriculum provision & development
  • To ensure effective data management
  • To ensure effective communications for the department
  • To ensure effective management of departmental resources

Ideally you will have:

  • A record of raising and maintaining standards.
  • Vision, drive and flare as you join our supportive and forward thinking team of teachers.
  • A genuine commitment to making a positive contribution to the academy.


This role is suitable for an experienced teacher with a proven track record of high performance as well as ambitious NQTs and professionals who are within their first few years of teaching. We work closely with our sister academy, New Rickstones Academy (graded Good), also in Witham and have a joint Sixth Form provision. Although this role is based at Maltings Academy, you will be expected to work across both academies.
