SENCo - Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator

Teachers main/upper pay range plus TLR £9,989

An exciting opportunity has arisen for our school to recruit an enthusiastic and conscientious SENCo to lead our SEN team, building on the excellent work that is already in place and championing our SEN/Additional Needs students.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the school meets all of its legal obligations under the most recent SEND Code of Practice
  • Lead and line manage a talented and skilled SEN team
  • Work with colleagues and students to put in place realistic expectations and targets for students with SEN/Additional Needs
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and external agencies to promote our student's learning and effectively communicate targets, achievements and progress

Staff morale is high at our school; we have an excellent induction programme and a commitment to professional development for all staff. All teaching staff are provided with a laptop.

Our oversubscribed school achieved a 'GOOD' rating in its Ofsted inspection in February 2017 and we have a commitment to supporting students in developing as well-rounded individuals as well as achieving their academic potential.

We promote many vocational and enrichment opportunities, including STEM projects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) to enrich learning experiences.

Specialising in sports since 2004, our sports facilities, teaching expertise and extra-curricular provision are outstanding. Our students enjoy sporting success at district and national level and benefit from an exceptional extra-curricular programme although our ethos is centred on participation for all.
