Learning Support Assistant

LSA Scale 3 Points 4-5 contract

10 hours per week - Afternoon LSA (1:00pm - 3:00pm)

MDA Scale 2 Points 2-3 contract

6.25 hours a week MDA (11:45am-1:00pm)

Tern time + 5 INSET days (39 weeks)

Start ASAP until 31/8/2025 4 Year Fixed Term Contract

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring, and hard-working Learning Support Assistant and Midday Assistant to support the physical, emotional, and academic needs of children within our school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a calm, patient and positive approach to working with children including those with learning, medical or behavioural difficulties.
  • Show some understanding of a therapeutic approach to supporting children (additional training provided).
  • Be able to work as part of a team, under the direction of the class teacher, as well as being able to show initiative.
  • Have a commitment to helping children of all abilities reach their full potential.
  • Hold at least a grade C in Maths and English at GCSE level (or equivalent).
  • Have previous experience as a teaching assistant in the primary setting or other phase
  • Have school based ICT experience or be willing to develop their skills.
  • Be committed to making an impact on our children's education.
  • Have an understanding or awareness of SEN issues.
  • Have the ability to liaise closely with class teachers to deliver the National Curriculum and specific interventions.
  • Work well within a team to support successful lunchtimes as part of our Midday Assistant Team.
  • Be kind and courteous to all.
