We have a vacancy for a part-time ICT Technician that could be increased to include LSA duties
Position Start Date -1st September or asap afterwards
Employment Type - Part time, term time only - 17 hours per week, days/times to be negotiated but preferred days/times are Monday and Thursday 8am-1pm, Tuesday and Friday 1pm-4.30pm.
This job could be full time 8am - 4.15pm if combined with an LSA role, for the right person. LSA role would be paid on Band 2 or 3 dependant on prior experience. Previous experience of supporting pupils in an educational setting desirable. A September start is available or soon after.
Pay Range - Band 3 of Giffards Pay Scales, for ICT technician role. Actual salary dependant on experience, maximum £8,416 per year actual salary.
Band 2/3 dependng on experience for LSA position. To be confirmed on application
We are looking to appoint a knowledgeable, flexible and enthusiastic ICT Technician to work across the school, helping to expand and enhance the ICT provision within the curriculum network. Our ideal candidate will enjoy working with children and have experience in working in an IT Support role. If no experience then an interest in all aspects of IT and willingness to learn.
Main duties for ICT technician include:
Administrative and operational assistance for the curriculum server, desktops, chromebooks and associated peripherals
To assist in developing and implementing plans for hardware and software installation and configuration as well as remote learning platforms
Provide technical support and training to staff and pupils to ensure efficient use of all aspects of ICT including the network and remote learning applications.
Support in the learning of children by supporting/teaching ICT in some situations, dependant on experience.
Keeping an inventory of hardware, software and computer supplies
To assist in identifying the cause of faults and undertaking basic repairs
To run ICT clubs

Information about the School
Giffards has been a primary school since 2005, with the amalgamation of the previous Infant and Junior schools. We currently have 14 classes with 405 pupils. We are a welcoming, friendly and inclusive primary academy, where we nurture and celebrate the achievements of all of our children. We have a large, experienced team of teachers and LSAs as well as specialist Music and PE staff. This has created a large school. We have invested heavily in ICT; all our classrooms have interactive screens as does our music room. We have an ICT suite with 30 computers plus interactive screen and also every child has access to their own chrome book as well as a set of headphones. All teaching staff have their own laptops which are used for planning and centralisation of information and resources.
