Shorefields School is a special needs school for pupils aged 3-19 with complex learning difficulties (SLD,PMLD,ASD).
We currently have a vacancy for a teaching assistant to support a community-based pupil. The successful candidate will need to have an NVQ level 3 or equivalent and should have relevant experience in a related field working with children with challenging behaviour or supporting the needs of people with disabilities. This is a physically demanding role and a certain level of fitness is required.
This is a task based role which will be reviewed on a termly basis. It is a fixed term appointment with the initial period being to 31st December 2021.
The role is a term time only position, plus non-pupil days. The days each week may vary due to the requirement to support the named student, and will initially be for either 2 or 3 days each week. (Monday to Friday)
Actual hours to be confirmed - 2 days will be 10.5 hours per week, 3 days will be 15.75 hours per week.
Actual gross annual salary for this position is between £4813.77 and £4975.66 for 2 days per week; between £7220.65 and £7463.50 for 3 days per week.

Information about the School
Shorefields School caters for the needs of pupils with a range of severe learning difficulties. We currently have 154 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 19 years. The school is located in the centre of Clacton-on-Sea close to the beach and shopping area. Our catchment area extends to the whole of the Tendring peninsula
