We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic practitioner to coordinate and deliver the Science curriculum to all pupils across KS3 to KS5 from entry level to level 2 qualifications.


The Role:

To deliver high quality teaching and learning in Science in KS3-5 to young people with a range of learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

To carry out professional duties as a form tutor role
To carry out the professional duties of a Teacher as outlined in the Professional Standards for Teachers.
To take responsibility (as with all staff) for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school's policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.
To lead support and supervision sessions for learning facilitators including Professional Development Reviews.
To plan, deliver, review lessons and curriculum maps.
To be responsible for the day to day running of the class and assist in other relevant aspects of the day to day running of the school.
To assess, record and report pupils' progress according to the school's policy in order to monitor and foster pupils' progress in all areas of learning.
To attend and contribute to teachers' meetings
Qualifications:

PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD, MLD and ASD
Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate

Experience of working in a school environment - applications from colleagues currently in mainstream settings are greatly encouraged.
Experience of successfully delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with a wide range of needs.
Passion to work in a therapeutic environment

Castledon School is a Special School for pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties and additional complex needs from Year 1 - Year 14.
