TLR 2b (£4,529), MPS/UPS, London Fringe Pay Scale

Required for September 2020, an inspirational, enthusiastic and ambitious teacher of ICT, with a willingness to deliver some computer science lessons, to join our ICT and Computing department.

The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College is a school where students achieve well and are part of a strong, caring community. Our school's ambition was recognised by Ofsted in May 2016 when it was stated that, "School leaders are ambitious. They want the school to become outstanding and they are doing the right things to achieve this."

The ICT/Computing Department consists of three full time and two part time teachers, all with their own dedicated teaching space

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational teacher to lead our ICT and work within a strong and innovative ICT/Computing department within Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Currently at Key stage 4 the school offers a Level 2 CIDA Course and GCSE Computer Science. At Key Stage 5 we offer A Level ICT, Cambridge Technical in IT (one A'Level and two A'Level equivalent courses). As a Technology College, we have invested heavily in ICT across the school and the department is housed in excellent facilities. The position will provide excellent preparation for future leadership.

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

· Be passionate about ICT

· Have a proven track record of impact on student progress

· Be a dynamic, career minded professional

We are keen to appoint dedicated colleagues who are eager to support our students to achieve in all aspects of their school life and who want to be key contributors to our school's success.

In the current circumstance we are unable to offer visits from prospective candidates to the school. We would encourage you to explore the school website www.bromfords.essex.sch.uk

The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be offered a position subject to full pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Closing date: Monday 25th May 2020, midday

Interview: Immediate remote Interview for shortlisted candidates

Information about the School

Our school is making rapid progress since its inspection in November 2022. A recent review by the Local Authority commented on the ‘sea change’ noted in students’ behaviour and the culture and ethos of the school. Our 2023 outcomes were the best set of Key Stage 4 results achieved by Year 11 students since 2016. Our Year 7 intake continues to be oversubscribed, with a waiting list.

Our school is a strong, caring community underpinned by our three core values of achieve, enrich and prepare. Our school’s culture is focused on the principles of high expectations and aspirations for all members of our community; actions and conversations, however difficult, are always underpinned by kindness; that we communicate and share success; that we value each other’s views and opinions; decisions are evidence based and student centred.

Our Governing body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. The successful applicant will be offered a position subject to full pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS clearance, satisfactory medical checks and 2 satisfactory references.
