Personnel Officer - Required April 2020 or sooner if available
Band 3 Range 6-11 or Band 4 Range 19-24 (Salary dependent on line management experience)
37 hours per week, term time plus 1 week holiday working
Actual Salary, inc outer fringe allowance £17,223-£18,960 or £22,123-£24,828
We are looking to appoint a Personnel Officer with responsibility for all administrative procedures relating to Personnel. This will include all administration for recruitment (advertising, arranging interviews, candidate tasks etc.), whilst complying with the pre-employment checks and recruitment policies.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for processing resignations, the reporting and monitoring of sickness absence, liaising with the Headteacher and Line Managers regarding Occupational Health referrals, ensuring that all personnel policies are up to date, providing termly reports on absence and staffing to Governors at the Personnel Committee Meeting, updating of SIMS personnel database and some pension related duties.
The Personnel Officer will also be responsible for all administration relating to the school's payroll system and completing the monthly payroll returns for overtime and absence in line with the monthly payroll deadlines.
A high level of personal organisation, attention to detail, ensuring confidentiality at all times, together with a well-developed proficiency in the use of ICT and English are essential. HR experience would be an advantage, along with knowledge of SIMS and E-payroll but not a requirement as training will be provided.
