Job Description

We are looking to recruit an exceptional teacher of mathematics to lead on closing the gap on achievement outcomes for our pupil premium students in Key Stage 3. You will need to be a driven individual with the ability to identify underperformance and have the skills to plan and lead intervention strategies. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated teacher with a passion for making a difference to the life chances of our young people and who is committed to helping all of our pupils to aspire and succeed whatever their starting point.

The Basildon Academies are based in Essex, just 35 minutes from London. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our KS3 students whilst the Upper Academy specialises in teaching our KS4 and KS5 students. The two Academies are approximately 1 mile apart. This post will be based at the Lower Academy.

The ideal candidate should:

• be able to engage and enthuse students
• have excellent subject knowledge and a passion to help young people learn
• possess data analysis skills to identify and target support for underperformance
• demonstrate a strong passion for their subject
• have the ability to instil self-belief and raise expectations
