Catalyst Academies Trust

School Admission Appeals Clerk

Catalyst Academies Trust are looking to appoint a School Admission Appeals Clerk to work across our
Trust schools; Dilkes Academy, Benyon Primary, Quarry Hill Academy, Somers Heath Primary and
Aveley Primary. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly motivated team.

The role of the Clerk is to ensure that the relevant facts are presented to the Independent Appeal
Panel, to order the business of the meeting, to provide an independent source of advice, record the
proceedings and the decision. Above all, the role of the Clerk is to ensure that appeals by parents are
heard fairly and impartially. The Clerk will work closely with the Trust Governance Manager to ensure
that all legal duties are completed.

You will ideally have previous experience in the clerking of School Admission Appeals or similar
hearings, or a background in Committee Work, although this is not essential. You must also have
previous experience of working with the public and minute or note taking. Full training in the law of
school Admission Appeals and procedures will be given.

For further information, or to apply for the role, please contact Mrs S Lilley, Governance Manager on
01708 852128 (option 5) or via email contactus@catalystacademiestrust.org.uk
All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of
