Higher Level Teaching Assistant
32 hours 30 minutes per week (excluding unpaid 50 minutes lunch break)
5 days per week term time only (non-negotiable)
44.3 weeks per year (contract includes pro-rata paid annual leave)
Required for Monday 2 September 2019 start.
We are looking for a skilled person with a positive outlook to join our friendly team of staff at this popular school for pupils with moderate/complex learning difficulties. We have exciting opportunities to lead in primary under the direction of our key stage two leader within this phase as we expand to accommodate two classes. As an HLTA, you will be expected to support pupils across the school (KS2-KS4) across a range of subjects, and be prepared to cover classes where required.
The successful applicant will need to have recent school based experience including supporting pupils with SEN.
This is a great opportunity to develop skills in working with SEN pupils in a special school setting. A commitment to working as part of a team and to developing your own skills is essential.
Applicants must have English and maths, at least GCSE grade C or equivalent. Completion of HLTA assessment would be an advantage.

Information about the School
Kingswode Hoe is a special school for pupils with complex learning difficulties. We take pupils aged between 5 and 16 (Y1 - Y11) living in the Colchester area. All pupils are admitted to the school by the Statutory Assessment team of Essex Local Authority based at Essex House in Colchester. We are currently funded for 151 places.
