Hours: 36 hours 15 minutes per week (we will consider part time hours)

Contract: Permanent, term time + INSET days (39 weeks per year)

Salary: LGPS Band 2 (actual salary range £15,037 - £16,000)

Due to expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrator to provide a comprehensive administrative and secretarial support service for our school. This is a permanent, term-time only post and we can be flexible with the working hours for the successful candidate. Our pupils are friendly and enthusiastic and you will join an experienced and supportive administration team.

This is an important position in our school and to be successful in this role you must be able to communicate effectively, work under pressure and maintain good relationships with all members of the school community. You will also have the ability to adapt to the ever-changing priorities and demands of the school office whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy, manage sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality. The position is varied but the main duties include a focus on attendance and admissions, managing reception, administration of after school clubs and events, parent communications and secretarial tasks.

The successful candidate will need to understand the importance and significance of safeguarding and confidentiality and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good IT and reporting skills are essential as the successful candidate will need to provide regular updates and reports to the Headteacher.

Previous experience of working within schools and an understanding of SIMS, including attendance and SIMS Dinner Money, would be an advantage. Along with your strong background in administration, you should have a minimum of English and mathematics at GCSE grade C or equivalent.

Montgomery Junior School is a three form Junior school located on the leafy, garrison estate. The school has well established links with the military community and are proud to serve the families locally. Staff vacancies are rare due to the supportive team of staff and well behaved pupils. The school is set in extensive grounds with well kept facilities. . The school was inspected in November 2019 and was described as 'Good' in every category, with the potential to move to outstanding. The most recent Ofsted report (Nov 2019) commented on " the welcoming and supportive ethos of the school." and also the fact that "Pupils work hard in lessons to achieve their best."
