We wish to appoint an outstanding and inspirational teacher to the post of Deputy Head Teacher at Alderton Junior School.

We are seeking an experienced senior leader, able to contribute significantly to our rapidly improving school, who will work in partnership with our newly appointed Head Teacher. Our school has huge potential, with a supportive and active Governing Board, supportive parents, a welcoming and dedicated team of staff and pupils who want to learn and achieve their best.

Alderton Junior School is a growing 2 to 3 form entry Junior School for pupils between the ages of 7 to 11 years. We are a forward-thinking school, working in collaboration with 15 other local schools as part of the Epping Forest Schools Multi-Academy Trust.

Our vision is clear, to provide pupils with a thorough education without any limits. We strive to make sure that each day is outstanding for every child as an individual and as part of our wider school community. We have a strong focus on working as the Alderton family, with strong links with the Alderton Infant School whom we share our school site, ensuring every child is nurtured in a positive, engaging and purposeful learning environment.

This is a role for an experienced, passionate and committed leader who has the knowledge and skills to have a marked impact on the quality of education and provision for our pupils; working collaboratively with the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team to make rapid and sustained improvements on our journey towards excellence.

Applicants will have:

  • The ability to demonstrate outstanding teaching and a record of excellent classroom practise.
  • Recent experience in a leadership team, with a proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils.
  • The ability to lead with a distributed leadership ethos, with leadership skills that inspire and motivate staff and pupils to achieve the highest standards.
  • A strong commitment to further raising the standard of teaching and learning that the school has already achieved, building on the good practise that already exists.
  • Be an excellent communicator at all levels, who can work with parents, staff and pupils to achieve our vision, with a strong commitment to our school values and ethos.
  • A passion for and experience leading a core subject to improved outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership skills.

In return we offer:

  • In the first instance, this will be a role that is non-class based with plenty of opportunities to teach.
  • An excellent and friendly working environment with staff and children who are committed to learning
  • A strong and supportive community of colleagues and parents
  • A dedicated and supportive Governing Board
  • Enthusiastic, well-behaved pupils who are keen to learn.
  • A package of Professional Development to support your leadership development, such as access to a diverse network of Development hubs, where you can have an impact on the development of key areas in the strategic direction of the trust.
  • The opportunity to work with our amazing children.
