School Minibus Driver
Salary LGS Band 2 Point 11-16 (depending on experience)
Hourly rate £8.19 to £9.03 plus holiday pay. Working hours 26.25 hours per week, school term time only
Actual salary £9,270 - £10,215

Glenwood School is a thriving community special school providing for learners aged 3 - 19 years with complex learning difficulties (SLD, PMLD, ASD) N.O.R 195. Many learners require high levels of support.
This is an opportunity to join a supportive and committed staff team. We are looking for a minibus driver who is positive, enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about valuing individuals.
All applicants must have category "D1" on their driving licence and have no active endorsement points, plus be willing and able to take seats on and off the minibus. The successful candidate will need to pass the MIDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme Test) training course before commencing employment (which the school will arrange).
Duties will include:
Transporting students and staff safely to various venues around the local area
To carry out daily safety checks
To complete all required paperwork relating to visits.
Ensuring the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use
To ensure the minibus is adequately fuelled for each journey and refuelling as required
To record and report any faults before and after every trip.
To ensure the minibus has the correct seats in positionfor each session and wheelchairs are safely and securely positioned.
To assist class staff escorting learners on educational visits for the duration of the visit

The post is for 26.5 hours per week, term time only, Monday to Friday. Working hours will be 08:45 to 12noon and 13:00 to 15:00 Monday to Friday.
Visits to the school are expected as part of the application process and shortlisted candidates will be contacted to tour the school.
