Resilience Coach
Start date: Negotiable
Part Time - Term Time plus 4 weeks. 37 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.00pm.
Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm/8.30am to 4.00pm on alternate weeks
Local Government Pay Scale - Level 5 point 8 to 12. £19,259 to £20,847 actual salary. (£20,493 to £22,183 FTE)
Chase High School is a mixed, mainstream secondary school located in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. It educates more than 1,000 students aged 11-18 from over 40 countries.
We are looking to appoint 2 Resilience Coaches to work in our new 'Return to Learning' inclusion unit. The successful candidates will be an integral part of our pastoral team, providing support to specific pupils to enable them to access learning through improved behaviour, attendance and social skills. An extensive background of supporting young people in either an education or local authority setting is essential.
The Individual:
Essential
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional approach when dealing with potentially challenging situations
• Work with external agencies
• Communicate with parents/carers, including home visits.
• The ability to read and write detailed reports.
• The ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to establish rapport and respectful and trusting relationships with pupils.
• To be punctual and reliable
• Excellent IT, literacy and numeracy skills
• Demonstrate a clear commitment to develop and learn in the role and undertake any necessary training
• Must be willing to work 4 additional weeks during school closure periods at the direction of the Headteacher.
• Must have access to own transport
• Will be required to carry out duties as a first aider, full training will be given.
Desirable
• Knowledge of KCSIE guidance
• Understand and support child protection procedures
• Understand procedures and legislation relating to confidentiality
• Experience of Sims.net or databases
