Teaching Assistant
Due to an unexpected resignation for a family relocation, we are looking to appoint an experienced and inspiring Teaching Assistant to support KS2 pupils in their learning.The role is a permanent, term time only post contracted to work 26 hours 15 minutes per week commencing as soon as possible. The rate of pay for a Teaching Assistant is Local Government Pay Scale Band 2 Point 11 to 14.
The successful candidate will support Classroom Teachers in the teaching and management of pupils in the classroom and playground, establishing good relationships with pupils and acting as a role model for them.
You must have relevant experience and a minimum of English and mathematics at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent.
Key activities of the Teaching Assistant includes
- Supporting pupils in undertaking literacy, numeracy and other learning tasks
- Preparing the classroom for lessons
- Undertaking pupil record keeping
- Promoting good pupil behaviourEncouraging pupils to work independently and with others as appropriate

Montgomery Junior School is a three form Junior school located on the leafy, garrison estate. The school has well established links with the military community and are proud to serve the families locally.
Staff vacancies are rare due to the supportive team of staff and well behaved pupils. The school is set in extensive grounds with well kept facilities. . The school was inspected in November 2019 and was described as 'Good' in every category, with the potential to move to outstanding. The most recent Ofsted report (Nov 2019) commented on " the welcoming and supportive ethos of the school." and also the fact that "Pupils work hard in lessons to achieve their best."
