About the team
The Sixth Form department at Harlow College have an upcoming vacancy for A Level Computer Science starting January 2019. This highly successful A Level department delivers a wide range of A Level subjects and achieves excellent grades and value added, contributing to the colleges overall success that has resulted in it being in the top 1% of colleges nationally for academic progress.
About the role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented individual who can support the A level Computer Science learners in exploring the programme content, developing the necessary skills and knowledge to reach their potential in the end of year exams. This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your skills and inspire the next generation by working in Further Education.
If you are qualified to degree level in Computer Science with strong communication skills and passion for using innovative techniques to promote learning, this could be a perfect job for you.
About the programmes
The programme uses OCR specification, which covers introductory topics such as computing principles, operating systems, databases and networks. This leads into the more complex topics including algorithms, programming techniques and problem solving. The second year will also see learner complete a programming project for coursework.
Experience Required
Successful delivery of A level Computer Science, including preparation of learners for examinations
Previous experience of planning of lessons, preparation of resources, delivery and assessment of A level Computer Science
Experience of using a range resources to promote learning, including digital resources
Creative problem solving skills
