Required for September 2018:
FEMALE LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT FOR NAMED PUPIL WITH PHYSICAL AND COMMUNICATION NEEDS
LGPS Band2W (points 11-16 depending on experience) - Actual pay range £6883 - £7396
This will be for an initial fixed term contract whilst the needs of the pupil are assessed in line with her Educational Healthcare Plan (EHCP).
Initial hours of work will be 8:15am - 11:45 am, five days per week, term time only.
Working hours may change in accordance with the needs of the pupil.
There is a genuine occupational requirement to recruit a female for this post.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children with physical needs, but this is not essential.
Duties include:
· Providing skilled support, including personal care, to a named female pupil with physical and communication difficulties
· Working as part of a team to take responsibility for the progress of the named child and adapting activities as necessary
· Working with the named child on an individual basis or supporting in a group to ensure access to the curriculum as appropriate
· Assisting with personal care (changing nappies, physio, lifting)
· Managing specialist equipment and following programmes provided by outside agencies (to include tube feeding)
